Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1-2 teaspoons coarse sugar
- Double Crust Pie Pastry
- 1 egg white beaten
Filling
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 6-7 cups apples peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- Frist, Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Then In a large bowl, combine all filling ingredients and toss well. Set aside.
- Then Line a 9" pie plate with pastry dough. Fill with apple filling.
- Then Roll out top crust, place overtop of the pie. Seal edges and remove any excess dough.
- Then Beat egg white and 2 teaspoons water. Cut 4-5 slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Next, Brush with egg mixture and sprinkle with sugar.
- Then Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes,
- Then reduce heat to 375°F and bake an additional 35-40 minutes or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.
- Frist, Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
